Multiple Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France (2005-2010)

The images shown here were shot over the summer of 2005 and 2006. At that time, intense public works were reshaping the city of Bordeaux.

The new tramway created a more open and peaceful city center with entire streets devoted to pedestrians and cyclists while bringing the suburban areas much closer. The first phase of the growing network was completed late 2008.

Between 2005 and 2008, I hadn't anything in mind but to photograph that changing landscape. In 2008, I ended up with a series of pictures depicting moods not facts.

Between 2008 and 2010 the project grew into an installation of twelve mobile displays, placed where each picture was taken. It received both an official support and grant from the cultural department of the city.

Similar to Guy Debord's psychogeography and "dérive", two concepts I wasn't aware of throughout the project, I set up a meandering track in the city in twelve steps. - web 480x.jpg
